I’m now into candle marking y’all.
This passion started out as a hobby earlier this year (2022 for you who is reading this in the future). When I started I thought to myself “Shebi na to melt wax, put wick, and wait make e set. Dassall!“
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… that was my first mistake.
Using natural waxes like soy wax, bee wax and the likes, is a different ball game. Then you add fragrance oil to the mix and everything changes.
SCIENCE PEOPLE, SCIENCE!!!
There is science behind candle making and that is something I underestimated in the beginning. If I’m to give an excuse, I’ll say it is because the kits are readily available. So I thought, since it’s easy access it must mean that they’ve ‘standardized’ the material and process, hahahaha. Who am I deceiving?!!!
Well, it was really unlike me though. I usually do my research before venturing into trying new things especially if it will require me spending money on materials or tools.
The experience is still new, 2 months and counting. I’ve learnt a few things like, how to calculate the amount of wax and fragrance oil needed, and experienced some common mistakes rookies make in candle making. I even have a candle making dictionary.
Your girl isn’t mucking around. On that note, cheers to trying new things .
All the best for this new found love, Sassy Fragrance. The first set is out just in time for halloween. I call it Flamenence. Check it out here.
PS: I thought I should have fun by playing with the font. Let me know if you like this style.
