Turn your 20 days leaves to 60 days in NEW ZEALAND – How to maximise your 2025 annual leavei
Public holidays 2025
- January 1 – New Year’s Day
- January 2 – A day after New Year’s Day
- February 6 – Waitangi Day. If you take the Friday Feb 7 off, you have four days off.
- In April, the 18th, 21st and 25th are Good Friday, Easter Monday and Anzac Day. The occurrence happens once in 3 years. For this year 2025, take April 14th to 17th and April 22 to 24 off. You will then get 16 days off.
- June 2nd is King’s birthday while Matariki (Maori’s new year) is on June 20th. So you can take your leave on June 3 to June 6 or June 16 to June 19. But my pro tip – save June’s AL for December
- Next public holiday is labour’s day which is on October 27. So book your annual leave around that day.
- Finally the big one, Christmas and Boxing Day which will need 6 days annual leave to get 16 days off.
Everything is explained in the link above. Make sure to check it out if you’re struggling with how to approach it.
